The second day was marked by an interesting visit to the headquarters of the Spanish partner located in the town of Alcoy, just over an hour away from Valencia.
The partners were taken to the premises, which is a beautiful example of early 20th century architecture, a former tobacco factory that hosts most of the Aitex research sections. studies, technologies, applications and results of the various researches that the institute is carrying out in the field of technological and performing fabrics. The study visit ended with a visit to an external laboratory where Aitex is developing and testing an innovative laser technology applied to textiles, on which the Technology Hub has built part of its work in collaboration with local designers.
Back in Valencia, Aitex planned a special event in the old centre of Valencia designed for the public presentation of Technology Hub path of activities. Best moment of the event, it has been the fashion show organized to present the dresses created during the Project testing phase in collaboration with creative designers involved in the hub which represent the meeting point between the folkloristic and religious tradition of the Valencia area and the advanced technological research applied to fabrics (Typical Clothing of Fallas Festivities and Moors and Christians festivities).
The use of laser technology for the exact reproduction of the most traditional decorative motifs applied to unusual and highly performing fabrics has created costumes that faithfully recall the figure and the sartorial construction of tradition but in reality present a high level of modernism and technology applied to fashion. In detail, the work of the technology hub was also presented through videos and direct testimonies of the participants who attended the evening.
