The workshop aims to analyse differences among two countries with a different textile background and how these differences can improve the creativity and the production for new textile products or idea.
Friday 3 JUNE, 11 am (CET) – It closes with the third date, the online cross-hubs workshops cycle organized by the project’s partnership within the activities of CreativeWearPLUS, this time involving ARCA Consortium as former CWEAR Project partner from Palermo (Italy) in collaboration with the Development Agency in Žepče (Bosnia).
Named “A BRIDGE AMONG TWO TEXTILE HERITAGES: CROSS-INFLUENCES AS A CREATIVITY BOOST” the workshop will introduce and illustrate the local activities carried out by the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo focusing on the precious source of inspiration from the Norman heritage in the desire to transfer it into the production of sustainable fabrics, focusing on the use of natural colours and materials.
Similarly, the coordinator of the new Textile Hub in Žepče will present the work and results achieved by local designers through the path developed with a circular and sustainable approach. During the final session, both partners involved in the Cross Hubs activities, will explain how it was possible to create a 'bridge' between the two local textile heritages, bringing together an Italian interpretation of Bosnian traditional costumes and a new reading made of recycled fabrics of the 19th century Sicilian textiles.
